Baking Bread
The students at HEC baked bread as part of their learning in Design and Technology.
Starting with evaluating existing products, the students tasted a variety of different breads and discussed their likes and dislikes. They then designed their own bread and learned about the method and ingredients they would need to use. The students baked their bread, learning the process and skills of combining ingredients, kneading the dough, leaving it to prove, and remoulding it to form their chosen shape. Finally, the students enjoyed taste-testing each other’s breads and evaluating them.
