How does light travel?

In science KS1 have been investigating light. They used torches to explore different objects to see if light travelled through them.

Children in KS1 enjoyed investigating if light could travel through different materials from around the room. They found out that some objects like the chairs and tables blocked the light. They were opaque. They also found some transparent objects like the windows and the water bottles. They were most amazed how light travelled differently through their coats depending on the colour and the thickness. They could see some light through their coats meaning they were translucent.
