Friday at the Farm
As part of their enrichment activities, as well as their Science learning about how plants grow, the students visited Bearstone Fruit Farm to learn about plant growth and to take part in fruit picking.
The students explored the farm and looked at the wide variety of plants, flowers and grasses, whilst listening to the sounds of nature. They used nets to catch insects and identified the different species they had found, before returning them to the wild. A trailer ride provided an exciting tour of the fields, as they learned more about what life is like working on a farm. Tasting as they went, the students picked a range of different fruits including gooseberries, blackcurrants, tayberries, josterberries, raspberries and strawberries.
